Welcome to the website of the integrated LIFE project "LiLa Living Lahn", project number IP-LIFE14/DE/022. The project is funded by the EU Commission with funds from the EU-LIFE program.
Here you can learn more about ‘LiLa- Living Lahn River’, the first integrated German LIFE project that aims to enhance the ecological health and connectivity of the river itself while simultaneously enriching the quality of life along the river. By the project activities, an added value will be created for the region by developing synergies between environmental concerns (water ecology, flood protection and nature conservation) as well as recreational use (tourism, sport).
Die Wetterredaktion des SWR besuchte am 8. Mai 2018 die Schleuse in Lahnstein und hat über das dort laufende Fischschleusungsmanagement berichtet.
Most recently, we installed a digital fish trap, the so-called riverwatcher. It scans the fishes passing by with a camera and makes the recordings available online.
